AE Munny (AB) projection test


Notes:
1. Smoothness and vividness sans Maya jobs.
2. The distance between 2 munnies could be closer.
3. The projection on glow-in-the-dark munny (the red one on the right) doesn't stand out much when it's placed next to the non-glowing.
4. The animation needs some timing alternation in order for 2 munnies to look as if they are having conversations.

In contrast with my original animation, the colors have been completely washed out upon rendering in Maya (probably due to the lighting or color setting). I would also like to modify the models since the roughness of the polygon is not reflected well on the surfaces.

Troubleshooting


3 sleepless nights later, the problem was finally solved. It seems the overwrite was mainly caused by folder names that maya couldn't recognize. It still gives me warnings which makes me anxious, however, 2 animations are currently playing simultaneously as I wanted.

Maya Munny crisis



I have been facing a problem when loading 2 different munny animations in one composition. When I load one image sequence into Maya, it plays perfectly. However, when I load the second image, first one becomes overridden or goes offline.

I married to After Effects for 2 full days trying to get something out of it. I created quite a lot of compositions and above are parts of of them that I though it can be more developed. (Obviously, more alternations would be needed... as my brain was fully occupied with each design, they all ended up moving in similar manners.) I'm still working on mapping them into my 3D models and also another composition using Japanese characters to connect 2 munnies with some sort of visual conversations.

8 hours and countless consumption of caffeinated beverages later, my first Munny model has finally completed. I believe I am no longer afraid of Maya, however, am still immensely overwhelmed by its myriad of choice functions...

Working with image planes...



I spent whole week to practice Maya and finally succeeded in importing front and side images of Munny as image planes. ( It took me ages even with help of tutorials...) The tracing stage is yet to be started. I need to speed up in order for me to finally focus on the actual animation part.
